Piper Meet Press Release
The 8th grade boys had a great first meet of the season with a score of 22 points and a 3rd place finish. The 4x400 (Casaert, Fuller, Frakes, LeCluyse) took first place with a time of 4:20.41. Individual meet winners were Mason Fuller in Long Jump with a distance of 17’3”, Brady Frakes in the 200m dash with a time of 26.42, and Claudel Bassembat in the 400m dash with a time of 1:06.45. Kevin Andrew tied for second in the Shot Put and Alex Henks took third in the 3200m run.
The 8th grade girls had a great first meet of the season with a score of 14 points and a 3rd place finish. Damary Aswani won the Discus with a throw of 89’3”! Second place finishers were Damary Aswani in Shot Put and Danielle McCullough in the 800m run. Third place finishers were Gabby Defrancesco in the 200m dash, Makayla Yockey in Shot Put, and Yirabari Wayih in the 100m dash.
The 7th grade boys had a great first meet of the season with a score of 48 points and a 2nd place finish. The 4x100 (Campbell, Harris, Lucas, Seyfert) took first place with a time of 54.21and the 4x200 (Del Cid, Graves, Garcia, Harris) took first place with a time of 1:56.81. Individual meet winners were Owen Seyfert in both the Long Jump with a distance of 15’5” and in the 200m dash with a time of 28.3, and Diego Garcia in the 1600m run with a time of 5:53.30. Second place finishers were Trey Harris in High Jump, Jacob Sink in Discus, Owen Seyfert in the 400m dash, Hagen Graves in the 100m dash, Bradley Cornell in the 800m run, and Jaylen Gallardo in the 1600m run. Third place finishers were Apollo Ramirez in High Jump, Tyson Bekele in Shot Put, Nolan O’Malley in Long Jump, John Lucas in the 200m dash, and Chris Cooper in the 800m run.
The seventh grade girls team had an amazing start to their season by taking first place overall with a total of 65 points. They placed first in all three relays; the 4x100 (Karlin, C. McKelvey, Walker, Woart,) won with a time of 58.34, the 4x200 (Figueroa, Martin, Williams,Winters) won with a time of 2:06.15, and the 4x400 (C. McKelvey, L. McKelvey, Toman, Walker) won with a time of 4:40.35! First place finishers were Aspen Walker in the 100m dash with a time of 14.52, Ashlyn Blankenship in Shot Put with a throw of 23’8”, Claire McKelvey in the 400m dash with a time of 1:10.60, Lilly McKelvey in the 800m run with a time of 3:01.20, and Evelyn Toman in the 1600m run with a time of 7:01.95! The girls swept the 200m dash with Addy Williams in third place, Maliyah Woart in second place, and Emily Karlin in first place with a time of 31.64! The team also swept the 100m hurdles with Claire McKelvey taking third, Evelyn Toman taking second, and Aspen Walker winning with a time of 20.47! Addison Winters was a second place finisher in Long Jump and third place finishers were Addy Williams in Long Jump, Georgia Cook in Shot Put, Emily Shaw in the 400m dash, and Maliyah Woart in 100m dash.
